If during an interview, a future employer asks you a question to which you do not know the answer, say so. Guessing or lying will end your credibility. You will sound articulate saying, “I’m sorry, I must confess that I don’t know that information; however, if I may, I can take an educated guess.”

Not only will you build your network and learn new skills, you will have a sense of purpose!
If you schedule a phone interview with a prospective employer, do all that you can to use a land line instead of a cell phone. Cell coverage, no matter how strong, always has the potential to drop out interrupting your interview. Also, land lines have far less static and interference.
Many companies offer Skype video interviews for prospective employees who are geographically farther away. Make sure you ensure the background of your webcam is appropriate. A bookshelf, a plain wall, or filing cabinets are acceptable; your bedroom furniture, the kitchen, or your media center are not.
